Outreach into the local community...
Boys and Girls Club in Lead/Deadwood
Volunteers are needed at the Boys and Girls Club in Lead to help students, mainly 7th-9th graders, with math. Also, people are needed to just play with the kids and such. As education majors this is a great opportunity to work with kids and get first-hand experience with Common Core math. This is great to put on a resume! The Math Club is helping out this year as a lot of kids are struggling with math. As a Math Club member, if you are interested please contact the President of Math Club, Heather @ [email protected]. If not a member but would still like to volunteer you can contact the Director of Boys and Girls Club, Anne Rogers, at [email protected] or (605) 584-1113. The location is 845 Miners Ave in Lead, SD 57754.
The hours where we would be needed is from 5-8pm Monday thru Thursday.
